Adventures Everywhere!

Here's a quick update on us (going all the way back to the end of August!)

Doesn't this look a little conspicuous? That is what I thought when I saw this in our courtyard

We have the fearless bystanders...

...a brave Lance to control this if it gets out of hand...

And this is what we've all been waiting for!

Yes, that is Jesse swinging fire around. He is our favorite juggler/entertainer : ) This phenomenon is actually called "Fire Poi."

The fun continued when he tried to pass it off to another friend, Melody.

But, sadly there was an accident.

Jesse lost the end of his fire poi.

Now to other things...

John, me and Jesus smiling. We are such a happy threesome.

John demonstrating the goodness of Ale 8 1, a favorite drink native to Kentucky.

High Bridge--it was once the tallest train bridge that crossed a navigable river!

John and I in a tropical land! Actually, there was a little garden at High Bridge park and we thought it would be lovely to sit in the middle of it.

No, John wasn't taking a joy ride on a stranger's lawn mower. The mower actually started rolling down a hill as we were walking by and John saved the day by jumping on it and hitting the brakes.

Our friends Daniel Farris and Amy Voss visited us Labor Day weekend. Here we are playing at a park together.

Daniel, Amy, John and I in our living room/study area/dining room.

I (Laura) organized a Labor Day get together with Broadhurst (our apartment complex). We had a potluck picnic in our courtyard. (We live on the opposite side of the wall you see)

These are our fellow Broadhurst friends. Not everyone who lives in our complex was present but you get the idea. We are very much about community here.

John (in the far left hand corner) had to do a service project as a part of his orientation to Asbury Seminary. This is the group he hung out with during orientation.

So....we can't wait for you to come visit and to see for yourself all the wonderful things about Kentucky!

Me too. It made me laugh. But not as much as just seeing that ship in the background of one of your pictures. I thought about the random ships in Johns apartment. and the one on the toilet. I miss you guys.
