Three Sundays ago, Laura and I were driving back from visiting Alabama, and we got caught in the Blizzard of '09. There were cars stuck along either side of the road all the way to Athens, but, thankfully, we made it home safely! We wanted to share a couple of pictures with you.
It all began in Alabama with just a little bit of snow on the ground and a beautiful winter wonderland.
But after a little while, the roads became covered with treacherous ice!
Soon there was only one lane left.
Hooray for home! This is a picture from the next day. Check out the snowman in the bottom left. Our little 5 year old neighbor built it. An unexpected blessing was that Laura's classes were canceled, giving her an extra week or two to finish her paper that was due.
